Decision Analysis in Societal Planning

It is sometimes irritating that even costly and controversial decisions very often are underpinned by poor planning and analysis. I will discuss some aspects of risk analysis and decision making in practice, emphasizing how stupid this can be. I will also suggest an alternative path. The talk will be very informal and might be quite obvious. Nevertheless, one or two interesting examples will be presented and it might be comforting to see that Swedish decision makers are no more intelligent than others.
