Towards a Model of e-Governance Acceptance

G. P. Sahu, M. P. Gupta, T. Sahoo

In order to study the acceptance of the E-Governance by end users, the E-Governance Acceptance Model (EGAM) has been developed. The base model has been derived with the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as the core and extended to include the variables such as Top Leadership Involvement, Government Policy and Regulations and Perceived Strength of Control which influence E-Governance acceptance. The model so developed has been validated using Interpretive Structure Modeling methodology. The model provides good understanding of the factors influencing the acceptance or rejection of e-Governance projects. The model can be used to study the level of acceptance of specific EGovernance projects with the help of identified variables in a structured manner.
