The National Computer Center (NCC) serves as the implementer of the project known as “Jumpstarting Electronic Governance in the Local Government Units” – otherwise known as the eLGU Project. Out of the 1,694 provincial, city and municipal governments in the country, the eLGU Project is targeting 375 LGUs as pilot/project beneficiaries. The NCC has conceived and is implementing the Project with the goal of enabling LGUs to make a head start in adopting information and communications technology (ICT) by empowering them in terms of their capability to embrace ICT and apply its benefits to local governance to radically speed up delivery and improve the quality of public service.
