Samant: A Hybrid ACO/PSO Approach for Dynamic Grid Load Balancing

ABSTRACT

In this paper we present a grid load balancing scheme based on self-organization. In our scheme, we use a set of mobile ants that incorporate a hybrid of Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) self-organization schemes in order to balance the grid load. This new scheme has been implemented and tested on the Anthill framework. Evaluation results show that it is quite worthwhile with its scalability, adaptability and simplicity features.
